Bombay Theme

semalam maser dok browse tv, tertengok TV9 drama melayu. drama lama TV3 yang diulang tayang, citer pendekar, Semutar Hitam. masa aku bukak tuh tengah babak budak tidur sebelah unggun api dengan muka sedih. Surprisingly the background music used is one of my favourite pieces, Bombay Theme. taken from Bombay (Hindi,Tamil, Telugu), a film directed by Mani Ratnam and music by Maestro AR Rahman.

the drama was first telecast in mid/late 90s and Bombay was released in 1995. i remember watching the drama but during my dark ages, internet was smthg aliens to me. i dont even know AR Rahman, and any hindi film (of cos Tamil isn't a muvee of interest!). and luckily TV9 repeat the drama after 10 years and get to know that AR Rahman music (Bombay Theme to be more specific) not just being used in Lord Of War(Nicolas Cage), Volvic ads (featuring Zidane)-to name a few, but also in Malaysia. I wonder who introduce the the ARR music to them since all the crew was malay and chinese. and is it legally used or a copy paste action.. but its not fully used. only the flute pieces.
